High-speed, high-speed maneuverability on the asphalt is at the heart of the updated KLX230SM. The 17″ wheels handle cornering well, while the large-diameter disc brakes offer excellent stopping power. The proven engine’s outstanding all-around performance has been enhanced to create an even more fun and exciting supermoto.
SUPERMOTO FUN
The updated KLX230SM engine offers greater torque in the low- to mid-range, pulling strongly and facilitating low-speed control. Fuel injection provides precise response, smooth torque contributes to the engine’s rider-friendly character, and the simple construction and light weight afforded by air-cooling contribute to agile handling suitable for urban riding.

The KLX230SM embodies the lightweight and maneuverable nature of the dual-purpose KLX230. Its simple, air-cooled engine and easy-to-handle perimeter frame contribute to a compact package, while the balance between engine and frame delivers performance that can be enjoyed by a wide range of riders.

A redesigned rear subframe follows a lower line. The new design allows for an 80 mm thicker seat (+6 mm) and longer rear wheel travel, while revised suspension settings offer improved ride comfort, a lower seat height (845 mm >> 840 mm), and a much more comfortable ground clearance.

The newly designed KLX230SM seat features a flat silhouette for increased freedom of movement, while the sleek bodywork also facilitates rider movement. To accommodate the new, thicker seat, the handlebar and footpeg placement have also been revised, with the handlebar 24 mm further forward and 13 mm higher, while the footpegs are 9 mm further rearward. The new grip position allows the rider to easily fit inside the bars, with improved control contributing to confidence when cornering.
