TAKE ON THE TRAILS
When tackling challenging terrain, the new KLX230R S is ready with long wheel travel and increased ground clearance. The powerful performance of the proven engine is now enhanced with a balancer for a more comfortable and rewarding off-road riding experience, while a larger fuel tank allows for longer trips on the trail without frequent refills.
CAPABLE OFF-ROAD PERFORMANCE
The KLX230R S’s latest engine offers greater torque in the low- to mid-range for low-speed control, resulting in a more rider-friendly engine character and linear acceleration. This combination, coupled with a low-speed feel, makes this motorcycle even more enjoyable to ride than before.

Ample wheel travel is available front and rear thanks to the finely tuned suspension, while large-diameter aluminum wheels, 21” front and 18” rear, efficiently traverse terrain—a combination that greatly enhances performance when tackling off-road trails.

The 7.6-liter fuel tank (compared to 6.6 liters on the previous model) provides longer range and allows for longer refueling intervals for more enjoyable riding. This fuel tank also features a lockable fuel cap.

The handlebar and footpeg placement have also been updated, with the handlebar positioned 25 mm further forward and 13 mm higher, while the footpegs have been moved 9 mm rearward. The new handlebar position allows for easier rider input, with increased controllability providing confidence when cornering.

A lightweight, easy-to-handle vehicle has been a key consideration since the KLX230R was first designed. A simple air-cooled engine and a manageable perimeter frame contribute to a compact design, while the balance between engine and frame results in performance that can be enjoyed by a wide range of riders.

Designed from the ground up for off-road use, the high-tensile steel perimeter frame provides the handling stability needed for confident off-road riding. For 2025, a newly designed rear subframe maintains the long wheelbase while offering a lower seat height.

With an updated rear subframe, the KLX230R S’s seat height is 25 mm lower (875 mm compared to 900 mm on the previous model), making the bike easier to handle and providing confidence when riding off-road, making it suitable for a wide range of riders.

The mono-tone high seat accessory offers thicker urethane (+14 mm compared to the low seat) with a wider shape for better riding comfort, while maintaining a flat silhouette that supports the rider’s freedom of movement, resulting in a seat that is extremely comfortable yet functional for off-road riding.
