Assist & Slipper Clucth

Based on feedback from racing activities, the Assist & Slipper Clutch uses two types of cams (Assist Cam and Slipper Cam) to move the clutch hub and operating plate together or separately

In normal operation, the assist cam acts as a self-servo mechanism, pulling the clutch hub and operating plate together to compress the clutch plate. This reduces the total clutch spring load, resulting in a lighter clutch lever when operating the clutch.

When excessive engine braking occurs, the slipper cam comes into play as a result of rapid downshifts (or unintentional downshifts) forcing the clutch hub and operating plate apart. This reduces pressure on the clutch plate to reduce back torque and helps prevent the rear tire from jumping and skidding. This racing feature is very useful when sport riding or riding on the track

Business Management Technology

Economical Riding Indicator

Kawasaki motorcycles achieve fuel efficiency by using high levels of electronic engine management control. However, fuel consumption is also greatly affected by throttle use, gear selection, and other elements under the rider’s control. The Economical Riding indicator functions to indicate low fuel consumption conditions. The current system monitors fuel consumption, regardless of vehicle speed, engine speed, throttle position, and other riding conditions. When fuel consumption is low at a certain speed and fuel efficiency is high, the ‘ECO’ mark appears on the LCD screen of the instrument panel. If the rider can keep the ‘ECO’ mark lit, fuel consumption can be reduced.

Effective vehicle speed and engine speed may vary by model, but paying attention to the conditions that cause the ‘ECO’ mark to appear can help riders improve fuel efficiency – practical for long trips. In addition, maintaining low fuel consumption also helps minimize negative impacts on the environment.

Chasis Management Technology

KIPASS (KAWASAKI'S INTELLIGEMT PROXIMITY ACTIIVATION START SYSTEM)

By simply placing the compact key fob (Immobilizer Pooertabel) in your pocket, KIPASS allows the rider to remotely turn on the steering lock and main switch, while walking towards the motorcycle.

When the FOB key is close to the motorcycle, the KIPASS unit inside the motorcycle captures the signal given. Like an immobilizer car key, each FOB key can be placed in a jacket pocket, so the rider does not need to take out the key to start the motorcycle engine.

ERGO - FIT

Proper Fit is key to rider comfort and control. However, the ideal size varies from rider to rider, depending on their physical dimensions and riding style. ERGO-FIT is an interface system designed to help riders find their ideal riding position. The various chassis interface points (handlebars, footpegs, seat, etc.) can be adjusted through a combination of replaceable parts and parts with adjustable positions. This allows a wide range of riders to find a comfortable and controlled riding position. Riders can not only feel at one with their machines, but also experience Kawasaki machines that are fun and rewarding to ride.

ABS - ANTI BRAKE SYSTEM

Kawasaki's ABS system uses front and rear wheel sensors to constantly monitor wheel speed. If information from either sensor indicates wheel lockup, the ABS ECU directs the pump in the ABS unit to regulate brake fluid pressure (releasing and reapplying pressure to restore traction) until normal operation resumes. ABS ensures greater riding pleasure.
