REVIEW
The sculpted bodywork brings the aggressive sugomi design – inspired by the Z series – to life. The unnecessary bodywork is removed to emphasize function. The 1,043cc In-Line Four engine increases the impact of the ride and the rigid chassis is stiffer, transforming the Z1000 into the most radical Supernaked in its class. Z1000 – UNLEASH.

TECHNOLOGY
ASSIST & SLIPPER CLUCTH

When excessive Engine braking occurs, the Slipper cam comes into play as a result of rapid downshifts (or unintentional downshifts), forcing the clutch hub and plate to operate apart. This reduces pressure on the clutch plate to reduce back-torque and helps prevent rear tire slamming and skidding. This racing feature is very useful when sport riding or riding on the track.
ECONOMICAL RIDING INDICATOR

When fuel consumption is low at a certain speed and fuel efficiency is high, the ‘ECO’ mark remains on, and fuel consumption can be reduced. Effective vehicle speed and engine speed may vary by type, but paying attention to the conditions that cause the ‘ECO’ mark to appear can help minimize negative impacts on the environment.
ELETRONIC THROTTLE VALVES

Kawasaki’s electronic throttle actuation system allows the ECU to control the volume of fuel (via the fuel injectors) and air (via the throttle valves) delivered to the engine. Ideal fuel injection and throttle valve position result in smooth, natural engine response and ideal engine output. This system also contributes significantly to reduced emissions.
KQS (KAWASAKI QUICK SHIFTER)

Designed to help riders maximize their acceleration on the track with clutchless upshifts, at full throttle, KQS detects that the shift lever has been moved and sends a signal to the ECU to cut the ignition so that the next gear can be engaged without using the clutch. During deceleration the system automatically controls engine speed so that the next downshift can be performed without operating the clutch.
KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control)

KTRC, Kawasaki’s advanced traction control system that enhances sport riding performance and provides service when facing slippery surfaces with confidence. Various modes can be selected by the rider (The number of modes varies depending on the type of motorcycle) according to the rider’s choice and level of disturbance
Power Mode Comparison

Kawasaki types equipped with several Power Modes offer a choice of engine power delivery that can be easily selected to suit conditions or riding choices. In addition to full power mode, there is also a choice of one (Low) or two (Mid-low) where maximum power is limited and throttle response is lighter.
Smartphone Connectivity

Advanced technology that can connect riders with their motorcycles wirelessly. Using the ‘RIDEOLOGY THE APP’ application that can be downloaded via smartphone. Vehicle information can be viewed on the smartphone such as Odometer, Fuel Gauge, Maintenance Schedule, etc. Rider logs can also be viewed through this application.
Horizontal Back-Link Rear Suspension

Kawasaki’s Traditional Uni-Track rear suspension is mounted vertically unlike the Horizontal Back-link rear suspension which has a nearly horizontal shock unit. Kawasaki’s original suspension setup places the shock unit very close to the bike’s center of gravity resulting in mass centralization.
ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System)

Kawasaki ABS system has front and rear wheel sensors to constantly monitor wheel speed. If information from both sensors indicates wheel lock, the ABS ECU directs the pump in the ABS unit to regulate brake fluid pressure (releasing and reapplying pressure to regain traction), ABS Ensures greater riding pleasure.
Ergo-Fit

Electronic Cruise Control Allows the desired speed (Engine RPM) to be maintained by pressing a single button. Once activated, the rider does not have to keep pulling the throttle. This reduces the pressure on the right hand when traveling long distances, making the ride more relaxed and comfortable.

IMU-Enhanced Chasis Orientation Awareness

The addition of IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) makes it possible to monitor inertia along 6 DOF (Degree of Freedom). Acceleration along the longitudinal, transverse, and vertical axes, plus rotational speed and pitch rate can be measured. The YAW level is calculated by the ECU using original Kawasaki software. This additional feedback produces a clearer, real-time picture of chassis orientation, providing precise control management at the limit.

SUGOMI DESIGN
SUGOMI DESIGN CONCEPT
The Sugomi Aura can be seen from the predator who is ready to pounce on his prey, his eyes focused, his body crouched down, muscles ready in anticipation. He is so concentrated on the situation that the energy he is gathering in preparation to attack becomes clearly visible, visible to those around him. The design of the Z1000 sugomi is taken from the intense gaze of a predator that radiates with the action of being ready to pounce.
SUGOMI DESIGN
The Z1000’s sugomi design carries over the crouching concept from the 2010-2013 model year onwards. The headlamp cowl, positioned as low as possible, extends the lines that flow down from the top of the tank to create the impression of a muscular predator’s shoulders crouching and head-down. The bodywork is perfectly matched to the engine and frame, reinforcing the condensed dynamic form. Mass is concentrated at the front. The dichotomy creates a dynamic design, with all lines drawn forward.

SUGOMI DESIGN
The Z1000’s sugomi design is most evident on its face. With the headlamp positioned as low as possible, it gives the impression of a predator preparing to pounce very strongly. The lines of wrinkles on the cover above the headlamp further emphasize this fierce look. The LED headlamp unit uses a reflector without a cover that is designed to appear dark when not in use. When the ignition is off, the face shows a very different intensity.

SUGOMI DESIGN
The Japanese word sugomi describes a powerful aura or energy that is given off by a person or object, and can be felt by the object looking at it. A person who has sugomi creates awe, leaves an unforgettable impression, and has an impressive stature or ability, and commands respect. In the Z1000, sugomi is evident in both its intense design and its incredible performance, radiating an energy that can be felt.

REFINED SUGOMI STYLING
Light, Agile, Sporty
While the aggressive styling of the Z900’s Z Supernaked has been refined, the key sugomi design elements that give it its signature silhouette—the crouching stance, low head and raised tail—remain. The new, sharp, bold design, centered around the engine, offers an unmatched impact that grabs and holds the attention of all who see it. The sleek, body-hugging bodywork is complemented by metallic accents throughout the design, giving it a high-quality feel. From the more aggressive front end to the futuristic feel of the sophisticated new taillight design, the Z900’s compact appearance conveys a light, agile image that reflects its sporty performance.

A slimmer, more compact headlight, designed as an integral part of the Z’s sugomi styling, is a major contributor to the Z900’s sharper front look. It allows for a slimmer front cowl, creating a compact, aggressive front look that Supernaked Z fans are sure to love.

REFINED SUGOMI STYLING
Advanced LED taillights are equipped with light-guiding technology to create a futuristic design with a modern 3D look, highlighting the Z900’s sharp and bold styling while giving it a high-quality feel.

REFINED SUGOMI STYLING
The sporty front seat features a slim design at the front and wide at the rear, with an updated shape that now features thicker urethane at the rear for improved riding comfort. The left and right corners are rounded to provide more leg comfort while sitting and make it easier for the rider to touch the ground. In addition to allowing the rider to move and assume a variety of riding positions while driving, the new, flatter shape of the seat also makes it easier for the rider to adjust his body position when riding sports.

REFINED SUGOMI STYLING
A textured aluminum cover engraved with the “Z” logo provides a striking accent on both sides of the vehicle. Matte silver plating around the key cylinder provides a high-quality accent that is clearly visible to the rider, enhancing a sense of pride of ownership. Behind the seat, an aluminum ornament with a detailed Kawasaki logo adds a touch of style.
