SUGOMI PERFORMANCE

A Visceral Experience

Delivering excitement as the engine revs increase, sugomi performance ensures that riding the Z900 is an extraordinary experience. The response of its In-Line Four engine is matched by light and agile handling. Thrilling without being intimidating, the combination is simply incredible.

SUGOMI EXPERIENCE

In-Line Four Engine
The powerful 948cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke In-line Four engine has a fast-revving character and strong mid-range power that continues to pull strongly all the way to the redline. Adding to the rider’s excitement, the distinctive intake sound encourages riders to roll the throttle deeper. Smooth, even power delivery makes handling easier while providing rider comfort and confidence. Precise control of the new electronic throttle valve contributes to smooth, linear acceleration, giving riders added confidence and enjoyment when cornering.

SUGOMI EXPERIENCE

Lightweight and Agile Handling
The key to the Z900’s agile handling is its lightweight chassis components, including its trellis frame. Improved suspension settings for the new model give riders more confidence.

Equipped with a new tire compound, the Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tires provide a solid and steady feel when cornering for a fun riding experience.

SUGOMI EXPERIENCE

High-Performance Brakes with Radial-Mount Calipers
The front brakes with new radial-mount 4-piston calipers provide precise braking touch with excellent control. On the SE model, ø300 mm Brembo front brakes, M4.32 radial-mount monobloc calipers and pads equipped with a Nissin radial-pump master cylinder and steel-braided lines deliver greater stopping power and linear progression for precise control.

SUGOMI EXPERIENCE

Sporty & Responsive
ø41 mm inverted front fork with adjustable rebound damping and responsive, progressive spring preload for crisp handling and high feedback. On the SE model, the higher-quality front fork also features adjustable compression damping.

SUGOMI EXPERIENCE

Performance & Comfort
Horizontal Back-link rear suspension with adjustable spring preload and stepless shock absorber provide excellent handling response, ride comfort and rear wheel traction. On the SE model, an Öhlins S46 rear shock with remote preload adjuster contributes to a softer and more responsive ride.

REFINED SUGOMI STYLING

Light, Agile, Sporty

While the aggressive styling of the Z900’s Z Supernaked has been refined, the key sugomi design elements that give it its signature silhouette—the crouching stance, low head and raised tail—remain. The new, sharp, bold design, centered around the engine, offers an unmatched impact that grabs and holds the attention of all who see it. The sleek, body-hugging bodywork is complemented by metallic accents throughout the design, giving it a high-quality feel. From the more aggressive front end to the futuristic feel of the sophisticated new taillight design, the Z900’s compact appearance conveys a light, agile image that reflects its sporty performance.

REFINED SUGOMI STYLING

Compact LED Headlight and Sharp, Compact Front Look
A slimmer, more compact headlight, designed as an integral part of the Z’s sugomi styling, is a major contributor to the Z900’s sharper front look. It allows for a slimmer front cowl, creating a compact, aggressive front look that Supernaked Z fans are sure to love.

REFINED SUGOMI STYLING

LED Taillights with Light-Guiding Technology
Advanced LED taillights are equipped with light-guiding technology to create a futuristic design with a modern 3D look, highlighting the Z900’s sharp and bold styling while giving it a high-quality feel.

REFINED SUGOMI STYLING

High-Quality Seat
The sporty front seat features a slim design at the front and wide at the rear, with an updated shape that now features thicker urethane at the rear for improved riding comfort. The left and right corners are rounded to provide more leg comfort while sitting and make it easier for the rider to touch the ground. In addition to allowing the rider to move and assume a variety of riding positions while driving, the new, flatter shape of the seat also makes it easier for the rider to adjust his body position when riding sports.

REFINED SUGOMI STYLING

High-grade counterpoints to the sharp and edgy styling
A textured aluminum cover engraved with the “Z” logo provides a striking accent on both sides of the vehicle. Matte silver plating around the key cylinder provides a high-quality accent that is clearly visible to the rider, enhancing a sense of pride of ownership. Behind the seat, an aluminum ornament with a detailed Kawasaki logo adds a touch of style.

ELECTRONIC RIDING SUPPORT TECHNOLOGY

IMU-Equipped

Kawasaki’s highly sophisticated electronic management system provides riders with the Z900’s fun and rewarding ride. Feedback from the IMU adds more precision to the ABS system.

ELECTRONIC RIDING SUPPORT TECHNOLOGY

Kawasaki Corner Braking Management
KCMF monitors engine and chassis parameters throughout the corner – from corner entry, through the apex, to corner exit – by modulating brake force and engine power to facilitate smooth transitions between acceleration and braking, and to help the rider maintain the desired line through the corner.

ELECTRONIC RIDING SUPPORT TECHNOLOGY

Corner Braking Management
Feedback from the IMU enables an additional function: corner braking management. In addition to the front and rear wheel speed sensors (standard for every ABS system), the enhanced ABS uses information from the IMU to calculate the lean angle of the motorcycle. If the rider applies the brakes before entering a corner (e.g. trail braking), increases the brake force mid-corner (e.g. to avoid an obstacle), or encounters a sudden change in surface traction (e.g. fallen leaves, loose sand, or wet areas), the brake force is modulated to prevent unstable vehicle behavior and skidding. This helps the rider to maintain the desired line through the corner, rather than running wide, or to come to a controlled stop.

ELECTRONIC RIDING SUPPORT TECHNOLOGY

Power Modes and Integrated Rider Modes
An all-inclusive mode that links KTRC (3 modes, plus OFF) and Power Mode (available in Full or Low) allows the rider to easily adjust traction control and power delivery to suit the riding situation at hand. The rider can choose from three settings (Sport, Road, Rain) or a manual setting (Rider). In manual Rider mode, each system can be adjusted independently.

ELECTRONIC RIDING SUPPORT TECHNOLOGY

Kawasaki Quick Shifter
Giving riders the chance to get the most out of the Z900’s exciting engine character, Kawasaki’s latest quick shifter enables clutchless upshifts and downshifts, for smooth acceleration and easy deceleration.
